Air Tahiti Nui (IATA code : TN , ICAO: THT ) is an airline of French Polynesia , created in 1996 by the government of the territory ( under the leadership of Flosse ) . It operates international flights from its platform correspondence to Tahiti Faa International Airport.
 
History :
Founded in 1996, it was not until finally , November 20, 1998 Air Tahiti Nui makes its inaugural flight from Papeete to Los Angeles.
 
Two days later, she performed the first flight from Papeete to Tokyo. During its first year of operation, it carries more than 30,000 passengers. In April 2000, she inaugurated the route between Papeete and Osaka , and in August it opens Papeete - Auckland. In 2002, she began connecting Papeete - Paris .

History of the Fleet:
 
In 1998 , Air Tahiti Nui leased its first aircraft with Airbus A340 -200 registered F- OITN called Bora Bora and commissioned in 1993 and has made ​​its first flights in Air France colors.
Between December 2001 and January 2002, the company receives two A340 -300 F- OJGF called Mangareva and F- OJTN called Bora Bora , the latter being leased from ILFC .
 
It is December 27, 2002 the company received two A340 -300 F- OSEA Rangiroa dubbed the F- OSUN called Moorea.
The A340 -200 left the company in May 2003 and joined the Reunion Air
Bourbon.
 
In June 2005, a fifth A340- 300 joined ATN : F- nicknamed Nuku Hiva OLOV . He will be static during the Paris Air Show in 2005 before joining Polynesia.
Air Tahiti Nui is considering replacing the 2018-2020 horizon by its five A340 long -haul jetliners new generation such as the Airbus A350- 900.
